REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 13, 2003 <br />This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents and <br />opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in opposition to this <br />bill, Councilmember Coleman made a motion for favorable recommendation to full Council <br />concerning this bill. Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of <br />nine (9) ayes. <br />BILL NO. 79 -03 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL OF THE COMMON <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />APPROPRIATING $48,000 WITHIN THE COUNTY <br />OPTION INCOME TAX FUND (FUND 404) FOR THE <br />PURPOSE OF PROVIDING ADDITIONAL FUNDING <br />FOR THE COMMERCIAL CORRIDOR PROGRAM <br />WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />Councilmember Aranowski, Chairperson, Personnel and Finance, reported that this committee held <br />a Public Hearing on this bill this afternoon and voted unanimously to send it to the full Council with <br />a favorable recommendation. <br />Ms. Pam Meyer, Division of Community Development, no address stated, made the presentation <br />for this bill. <br />Ms. Meyer advised that they administer the Commercial Corridor Program. The forty -eight <br />thousand dollars ($48,000.00) requested in this bill are funds received from the sale of property on <br />Lincolnway West for the Teachers Credit Union parking area.
