Councilmember Coleman seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine <br />(9) ayes. <br />BILL NO. 84 -03 FIRST READING ON A BILL OF THE COMMON <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY <br />LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LAND <br />IN GERMAN TOWNSHIP CONTIGUOUS THEREWITH; <br />OMAR M. ABUHILAL, 52423 PORTAGE ROAD, SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA <br />This bill had first reading. Councilmember Coleman made a motion to refer this bill to the Zoning <br />and Annexation Committee and set it for Public Hearing on November 24, 2003 and Third Reading <br />on December 8, 2003. Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote <br />of nine (9) ayes. <br />BILL NO. 85 -03 FIRST READING ON A BILL OF THE COMMON <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 8, SECTION 2 -121 <br />OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE <br />CLARIFYING HOLIDAYS FOR CITY OFFICERS AND <br />EMPLOYEES <br />This bill had first reading. Councilmember Coleman made a motion to refer this bill to the <br />Personnel and Finance Committee and set it for Public Hearing and Third Reading on October 27, <br />2003. Councilmember Kuspa seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />There was no unfinished business to come before the Council at this time. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />MEETING OF THE ZONING AND ANNEXATION COMMITTEE <br />Councilmember Kuspa announced that the Zoning and Annexation Committee will meet on <br />October 22, 2003 at 3:30 p.m. regarding the updating of the new City zoning ordinance. <br />CITY PLAN MEETINGS <br />Councilmember Pfeifer encouraged citizens to contact the Mayor's office at 235 -9261, the <br />City Clerk's office or their neighborhood association or partnership center for the date, time <br />and location of several meetings that will take place throughout the City that will give <br />residents the opportunity to discuss the City Plan. She noted that citizen input is needed. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR <br />There was no one present wishing to address the Council at this time. <br />-24- <br />
