<br /> Councilmember Puzzello asked the question, whether or not the landfill still accepts yard waste?
<br /> Mr. Bernard Voll, Junoll Industries, 27125 Tyler Rd., Walkerton, Indiana,business address -
<br /> 1020/1022 S. Webster, South Bend, Indiana. Mr. Voll stated that there are two landfills that
<br /> still accept yard waste one is located in Elkhart, Indiana, and the other is located in Berrien
<br /> County, Michigan that also accepts yard waste.
<br /> Councilmember Pfeifer asked the petitioner when you bring the material to have it stored on the
<br /> property will it already be separated or will you have to separate it?
<br /> Mr. Voll stated that when they take orders from their clients, they ask them what kind of debris
<br /> they will be filling the containers with. Mr. Voll stated that they know ahead of time what kind
<br /> of waste they will be picking up. Mr. Voll stated that at no time will they do any separating of
<br /> waste on site.
<br /> Councilmember Coleman stated that he was concerned about the type of tarps that would be
<br /> covering the storage containers. He indicated that there is a legitimate amount of concern
<br /> regarding rainfall or any kind of precipitation then creating some run off. Councilmember
<br /> Coleman asked for further clarification on how the containers would be covered.
<br /> Mr. Voll stated that Junoll would put waterproof vinyl tarps on the containers. Mr. Voll also
<br /> stated that they are putting in a drywell drainage system onto the property that will catch any
<br /> drainage that might drain off.
<br /> Councilmember Kelly made a motion to adopt 2nd Substitute version of this Resolution with
<br /> conditions. Councilmember Kuspa seconded the motion which carried and the Resolution was
<br /> adopted by a roll call vote of nine (9) ayes.

<br /> WHEREAS, a Statement of Benefits and a petition for residential real property tax abatement has
<br /> been submitted to and filed with the City Clerk for consideration by the Common Council of the
<br /> City of South Bend, Indiana requesting that the areas commonly known as 2309, 2315, 2503,
