REGULAR MEETING MARCH 8, 2004 <br /> bond issue which paid for the Hall and exhibits, in 1998 $500,000 was paid. The bond payments <br /> from South Bend property taxes on the $17.45 million after the Build Indiana payment, began in <br /> 2001. The annual payment is approximately$1.4 million and runs for 17 years. Total cost: <br /> approximately$23.8 million. <br /> COMMENTS BY MR. JOHN SWANSON CONCERNING CITY WIDE YOUTH CENTER <br /> Mr. John Swanson, 1321 West Washington Street, South Bend, Indiana, informed the Council <br /> that he would like to see a community center open 24 hours a day. Mr. Swanson stated that <br /> people could go and play basketball and sports all day. He further noted that the center should <br /> have three courts for basketball, one for boys, one for girls and one for adults. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENT OF NEXT MEETING DATE <br /> Council President White announced that the next meeting of the Common Council will be held <br /> on Monday, March 22, 2004. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business to come before the Council, President White adjourned the <br /> meeting at 8:05 p.m. <br /> ATTEST: ATTEST: <br /> John Voorde, City Clerk Karen L.
