REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 9, 2004 <br /> by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br /> BILL NO. 5-04 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL OF THE COMMON <br /> COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br /> INDIANA, AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 1, <br /> SECTION 2-10 (i) (1) OF THE SOUTH BEND <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE ADDRESSING STANDING <br /> COMMITTEES OF THE SOUTH BEND COMMON <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Councilmember White, Chairperson, Council Rules Committee, reported that this committee met <br /> on this bill this afternoon and sends it to the full Council with a favorable recommendation. <br /> Councilmember Coleman, 4319 Foxfire Drive, South Bend, Indiana, made the presentation for <br /> this bill. <br /> Councilmember Coleman stated that this bill is a housekeeping measure and the objective is to <br /> create a simpler, less linguistically taxing title for the Committee. This bill will allow the change <br /> of the name of the Parks, Recreation, Cultural Arts and Entertainment Committee to the Parks, <br /> Arts, Recreation and Culture Committee. The change is in name only and the scope of the <br /> Committee's responsibilities will remain the same.
