REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 8, 2004 <br /> Councilmember Kelly, Chairperson, Community and Economic Development <br /> Committee, reported that this committee met on this bill this afternoon and voted to send <br /> it to the full Council with a favorable recommendation. <br /> Ms. Judy Roschek, Community and Economic Development, 1200 County-City <br /> Building, South Bend, Indiana, made the presentation for this bill. <br /> Ms. Roschek advised that this bill will appropriate $10,000 from CDBG Program Income <br /> to cover cost of filing fees, lease commission and redemption of property at tax sale to <br /> protect the City's interest in home improvement loans previously made by the City. <br /> This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents <br /> and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. <br /> There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in <br /> opposition to this bill, Councilmember Varner made a motion for favorable <br /> recommendation to full Council concerning this bill. Councilmember Kelly seconded the <br /> motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br /> BILL NO. 74-04 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL OF THE <br /> COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br /> BEND, INDIANA, APPROPRIATING$595,571 <br /> WITHIN FUND 212, COMMUNITY <br /> DEVELOPMENT FUNDS,FOR THE PURPOSE <br /> OF DEFRAYING THE ADMINISTRATIVE <br /> COSTS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF <br /> COMMUNITY &ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br /> Councilmember Kelly, Chairperson, Community and Economic Development <br /> Committee, reported that this committee met on this bill this afternoon and voted to send <br /> it to the full Council with a favorable recommendation. <br /> Mr. John Sellers , Community and Economic Development, 1200 County-City Building, <br /> South Bend, Indiana, made the presentation for this bill. <br /> Mr. Sellers advised that this bill would allow for the appropriation of$595,571 in 2005 <br /> projected income to the Department of Community and Economic Development from <br /> fees, interest income, and staff support contracts. These anticipated resources include <br /> staff contracts for several not-for-profits and administration of the federal HOME <br /> program. These revenues are consistent with the information on the Department's <br /> administrative budget. <br /> This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents <br /> and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. <br /> There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in <br /> opposition to this bill, Councilmember Varner made a motion for favorable <br /> recommendation to full Council concerning this bill.
