PARC <br />4:45 P.M. <br />April 8, 2013 <br />Committee Members Present: Henry Davis, Dr. Ferlic, Gavin Ferlic, Tim Scott <br />Other Council Present: Valerie Schey, David Varner, Oliver Davis, Karen White, Derek Dieter <br />Others Present: Valerie Schey, David Varner, Oliver Davis, Karen White, Derek Dieter <br />Agenda: Century Center — Global Spectrum — Dennis Andres, Jr. <br />This PARC committee meeting under the leadership of Henry Davis was called to allow Dennis Andres Jr., <br />an opportunity to report to the Council on recent Century Center Board activity. Dennis is the Council <br />appointment to the Century Center Board and serves as its secretary. Dennis reported that the Board is <br />currently reviewing proposals to manage Century Center in the future. Dennis described the evaluation <br />process used to choose from the three proposals submitted in response to the Board's issuance of an <br />RFP. Of the companies submitting proposals, two are Philadelphia based including the current provider <br />Global Spectrum, and on elocally based, The Board's selection was to be made at their next meeting <br />scheduled for April 17. <br />In the meantime, Council President Dieter and six other Councilmembers signed a letter addressed to <br />the Mayor (a copy is on file in the Office of the City Clerk) and other interested parties favoring local <br />professional management. <br />Tim Scott and Karen White shifted conversation to ongoing safety issues. Last year Tim Scott indicated <br />serious, potentially dangerous wiring deficiencies. As yet they have not been addressed. <br />Eric Horvath, Director of Public Works, promised a timetable. <br />Before adjourning at 5:16, Henry Davis voiced a preference for local management of Century Center. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />6' <br />enry avis, Jr., Chairperson <br />Committee <br />
