CITY OF SOUTH BEND I OFFICE OF THE CLERK <br /> Bill No. 05-24: Alley/Street Vacation-914 E.Jefferson Blvd <br /> Angela Smith, 914 E. Jefferson Street, South Bend, Indiana 46617 Building presented Bill No. <br /> 05-24, is requesting that a paper alley behind her home be vacated. The petitioner is requesting <br /> the alley be vacated to allow proper setback to build a cottage for her aging parents. There would <br /> be an easement in for utilities and there would be no structures on the alley. <br /> Chair Niezgodski opened the floor to members of the committee for questions. <br /> Vice-chair White asked the petitioner about where the approach is. <br /> Petitioner responded that it was on Notre Dame Avenue the other portion of the alley had been <br /> vacated earlier. <br /> Chair Niezgodski asked about replacing the curb. <br /> Ms. Smith responded that the curb would be added with a lawn when the approach was taken out <br /> Member Petrell asked about the subdivision and how the alley would divided. <br /> Ms. Smith responded that she would get seven(7)feet,her neighbor to the south of her would get <br /> seven(7) feet and the neighbor to the left would get their portion of the property. <br /> Councilmember Warner asked for confirmation on if the alley was grass. <br /> Ms. Smith confirmed. <br /> Councilmember Bolden-Simpson asked the petitioner to show her where the alley and property <br /> are on the map. <br /> Chair Niezgodski opened the floor to members of the public for questions and comments. <br /> No members of the public made comment. <br /> Chair Niezgodski entertained a motion send Bill No. 83-23 to full Council. <br /> Committee member Dr. Oliver Davis motioned to send Bill No. 05-24 to full Council with a <br /> favorable recommendation. Committee member Carl Petrell seconded the motion with a roll <br /> call of number six (6) ayes. <br /> Chair Sheila Niezgodski-Aye Vice-Chair Karen L. White-Aye <br /> Councilmember Dr. Oliver Davis-Aye Councilperson Sherry Bolden-Simpson-Aye <br /> Member Jason Piontek- Aye Member Carl Petrell-Aye <br /> Planning Commission.
