The following requests for the use of parks were submitted for approval by the Board: <br /> a. Stations of the Cross—LaSalle Park—March 24th <br /> b. Workers' Memorial—Howard Park—April 28th <br /> c. Rum Village Disc Golf Tournament —Rum Village—June 8th <br /> d. Revival—New Kingdom Outreach Ministries—LaSalle Park—July 31-August <br /> 2nd <br /> e. Zombie Walk—Howard Park— September 7th <br /> f. Multiple Sclerosis Walk—Riverwalk to Viewing Park—May 4, 2013 <br /> g. Urban Adventure- Various Parks- July 27th <br /> Ms Harriman recommended that all be approved. <br /> Mr. Mullins made a motion to approve the requests for the use of parks. Ms. Hill <br /> seconded the motion and it was approved. <br /> V. The next order of business was unfinished business. <br /> 1. Opening of Chemical and Fertilizer Bids- Randy Nowacki <br /> Mr. Nowacki presented four sealed bid packages for chemicals and fertilizers. <br /> Ms. Greene inspected the submissions and reported that each was in compliance. <br /> Mr. Nowacki opened each packet and read the first and last items aloud. He then <br /> requested that the Board refer the bids to staff for review and to bring his <br /> recommendations to the March meeting for award. <br /> Ms. Hill made a motion to refer the bids to staff for review and recommendation at the <br /> March meeting. Mr. Mullins seconded the motion and it was passed. <br /> VL Approval of Minutes <br /> Ms. Hill made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular Board meeting held on <br /> January 22, 2013 and the special meeting held January 30, 2013 as mailed. The motion <br /> was seconded by Mr. Mullins and approved. <br /> VII. Approval of Maintenance Vouchers <br /> A motion was made by Mr. Mullins to approve maintenance vouchers for January 2013 <br /> totaling $839,941.69. <br /> It was seconded by Ms. Hill. There being no further discussion, the motion was passed. <br /> VIII. Business of Director St. Clair <br /> 1. Director St.Clair reported that the department is in the early stages of planning for the <br /> update of the five year master plan. <br /> 2. He mentioned the Mayor's State of the City address last week and related that the Park <br /> Department is in good financial shape. Our cash balances are strong. <br /> 3. He thanked Paula Garis and Susan O'Connor and the staff for all the efforts that went <br /> into the Daddy/Daughter Dance last week. <br /> 4. He thanked the golf staff for the great turnout at the annual open house last Saturday. <br /> 5. He mentioned the Crossings School's forestry intern program that we are participating <br /> - - 3 - - <br />
