<br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES AND WAGES
<br />OF APPOINTED OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY
<br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE CALENDAR YEARS
<br />1985 and 1986.
<br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
<br />Pursuant to Indiana Code Section 36- 4 -7 -3, the Mayor fixes
<br />"the compensation of each appointive officer, deputy, and other employees of
<br />the City." All such wages and salaries are subject to approval by the Common
<br />Council.
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
<br />BEND, INDIANA:
<br />SECTION I. For calendar years 1985 and 1986, maximum annual
<br />salaries and wager the following appointed officers and employees of the
<br />City of South Bend, Indiana, shall be no more than as listed below in this
<br />section; provided, however, that nothing herein shall exclude the
<br />applicability of Section II of this ordinance should the events set forth
<br />therein occur; and further provided that the Controller shall be authorized to
<br />allocate distribution of 1985 annual salaries and wages in a manner that will
<br />enable all officers and employees in job classifications listed herein who are
<br />not members of Teamsters Local Union No. 364 to receive a 2.6% increase in the
<br />annual wage rate of their job classification effective July 1, 1985.
