December 21, 1954
Dear Members of the South Bend Common Council:
The Appropriation Ordinance as described herein is necessary if we
are to be successful in the acquiring of private monies for the
important project of renovation of the Palais Royale and the Morris
Civic Auditorium; funding sources simply want to view documents about
the proposed project improvements.
We have a unique opportunity to gain the use of a significant portion
of the historic Pala-is Royale for such improvements as restrooms for
the handicapped and a larger, more secure box office and lobby, which
will enhance the Morris Civic Auditorium. The renovation of the Morris
Auditorium will be a most significant event to make our community's
central core complete with entertainment and meeting facilities.
We urge your prompt approval of this ordinance.
Sin il ,
Brian R. Hedman
Executive Director
BRH:kg
120 South Saint Joseph Street
South Bend, Indiana 46601
(219) 284 -9711
