Council President Beverlie Beck
November 14, 1984
Page -2-
5. An increase of $7,500 in other equipment and emergency
medical services for the purchase of a computer for billing
purposes.
6. An increase of $80,000 in motor equipment for the
Bureau of Vehicle Maintenance which pertains to the purchase of
an additional street sweeping unit.
The aforementioned increases plus the others listed in the
ordinance are being offset by decreases in accounts throughout
the City of South Bend. All increases within any particular fund
are being offset by decreases within the same fund.
As you are aware, when the City passes a budget for any
particular year, there is no way of knowing, after getting into
that year's operations, what items will change due to
circumstances that could not be foreseen. If you have any
additional questions, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
WL-,Pel4u--
Michael L. Vance
City Controller
MVL /caw
Enclosures
