Scott and his wife Grace Catherine(Simmons) Scott; and <br /> 6es, Marian Grace married the love of her life Rozell Newbill in February 1946; and <br /> 4 ,Marian Grace was a known and respected business owner, having opened her <br /> first B-B-Que Restaurant in South Bend, on Washington Street, in 1952; and <br /> OX‘rattaS Marian Grace opened her second restaurant in 1985; and <br /> G,l .,tts4 still not satisfied, she opened a third restaurant in 2017, shortly before retiring; <br /> and <br /> Olic•mas, Marian Grace accomplished many"firsts"in her life including being the first <br /> black woman on the school board at St. Patrick's School in 1952 and the first black woman in <br /> the Altar and Rosary Society; and <br /> Marian Grace was a pillar of St. Augustine's Church; and <br /> Marian Grace had an interest in teaching as shown by her teaching children's <br /> Sunday school for more than twenty years and teaching elementary school students life skills, <br /> also for more than twenty years, while being the second in command for the African American <br /> Tutoring Program; and <br /> *Class of her teaching skills, Marian Grace was fond of saying"I can teach you <br /> something new honey, that you would have never learned;" and <br /> G'4 Marian Grace has received many awards throughout her lifetime including the <br /> Citizen's Award from the City of South Bend; and <br /> Ofirdpets Marian Grace had many other interests during her life such as working as a <br /> nursing assistant for over thirty years at Terry Kings Nursing Home and working in Chicago <br /> with Mr. and Mrs. Ziemanns; and <br />
