The firm is <br />certified by the City of Fort Wayne and State of Indiana as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE). Since 2004, the company has expanded beyond primarily <br />being known as a land surveying firm and has grown to include civil engineering services. APEX is focused on providing our clients with professional <br />engineering services of the highest quality and value. APEX is currently acting as a City Engineer for the City of Garrett, IN. <br /> <br />APEX has made significant contributions to the civil engineering field in the local agencies, and communities in northeast Indiana. APEX is <br />also an INDOT pre-qualified consulting firm with the following work types: <br /> <br />APEX’S INDOT PRE-QUALIFICATION WORK TYPES <br /> 6.1 Topographic Survey and Data Collection 8.1 Non-Complex Roadway Design <br /> 11.1 Right-of- Way Plan Preparation 13.1 Construction inspection <br /> 16.1 Utility Coordination <br /> <br />PROJECT UNDERSTANDING <br /> <br />The APEX Team understands that the City of South Bend plans to make improvements to the existing sidewalks, that the children and students <br />currently walk or ride a bicycle to Lady of Hungary Elementary School by replacing the deteriorated existing sidewalks, constructing new ADA <br />curb ramps to comply with the current standards, and the need for construction inspection services for this sidewalks and curb ramp <br />rehabilitation. The project is funded by 90% FHWA and 10% by the City of South Bend. Construction inspection activities will follow INDOT <br />instructions and guidelines as well as the City of South bend standards. This project will provide for safe walkways and the aesthetics of the <br />areas. The project is anticipated to be under construction in spring 2024.
