RUNNING <br /> S . FROM WAYNE ST. FOR A DISTANCE OF APPROX. 123 FEET <br /> Dear Members of the Council : <br /> In accordance with Municipal Code Section 18-53 . 8 , a favorable <br /> recommendation is being submitted to the Common Council <br /> concerning the Vacation Petition filed by John E. Sullivan, 1118 <br /> East Wayne Street and Mary C. Roemer, 1112 East Wayne Street , <br /> South Bend, Indiana, to vacate the 1st north/south alley east of <br /> Eddy Street running south from Wayne Street to the 1st <br /> intersecting east/west alley for a distance of 123 feet all being <br /> in the Sunnymede 1st Addition to the City of South Bend, St . <br /> Joseph County, Indiana.. <br /> For your information, Public Hearings concerning this proposed <br /> vacation were held on April 8 , 1986 and April 15 , 1986 . As <br /> required by ordinance, owners whose property abut the proposed <br /> property to be vacated were notified of the Board' s Public <br /> Hearing date. <br /> Mr. John Sullivan and Ms . Mary C. Roemer, Petitioners , were <br /> present at the Public Hearing on April 8 , 1986 , and spoke in <br /> favor of the vacation. Mr. Allen Mitschelen, 1107 Sunnymede <br /> Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, was also present and spoke against <br /> the proposed vacation. There was no one else present wishing to <br /> speak either for or against the Petition but the Board did <br /> receive a written objection to the vacation from Mrs . Stephen C. <br /> Lobdell , 1120 East Wayne Street°,•' a copy of which is attached. <br /> Additionally, copies of the excerpts of the minutes of the Public <br /> Hearings are attached for your information. <br /> Based on the comments made at the Public Hearings and information <br /> received, the Board determined that it will be necessary for Mr. <br /> Sullivan to dedicate right-of-way that will be required for safe <br /> turning movements for trash trucks . Therefore, the Board of <br /> Public Works , favorably recommends vacation of the above referred <br />
