• ` <br /> BILL NO. <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1(p 3 3 - ?(, <br /> AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $67, 000 . 00 FROM <br /> THE LOCAL EQUAL HOUSING OPPORTUNITY FUND <br /> TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH <br /> BEND THROUGH ITS HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION <br /> AND DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: <br /> The City of South Bend is committed to equal opportunity <br /> in housing. In attempting to achieve this goal, a local Human <br /> Rights Commission has been established. This Ordinance will enable <br /> the Human Rights Commission to develop and implement programs <br /> designed to promote equal opportunity in housing. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council <br /> of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br /> SECTION I. The sum of $67, 000.00 is hereby appropriated <br /> for the period beginning April 1, 1986 , from the Equal Housing <br /> Opportunity Fund. The appropriation shall be used for the expenses <br /> of the Human Rights Commission incurred under a federal grant <br /> awarded the Commission by the U.S. Department of Housing and <br /> Urban Development. The appropriation shall be administered by the <br /> Human Rights Commission and Department of Human Resources and <br /> Economic Development and will be administered as set forth below: <br /> Account No. : 58/66 <br /> Account Name : Human Rights Federal <br /> Amount of Appropriation: $67 , 000.00 <br /> SECTION II .
