Community Investment Committee Meeting <br /> 2013 South Bend Common Council <br /> The February 18, 2013 meeting of the Community Investment Committee was called to <br /> order by its Chairperson, Council Member Gavin Ferlic, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council <br /> Informal Meeting Room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members Scott, Henry Davis, Jr., Schey, Dr. Fred <br /> Ferlic, Oliver J. Davis, Dieter, Gavin Ferlic, and Karen L. White; Pong Yin (Amy Le) Le, <br /> and Council Attorney Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Council Member Ferlic noted that the Committee Members include Council Member <br /> Henry Davis, Jr., who is the Vice-Chairperson, Council Member Valerie Schey, Dr. Fred <br /> Ferlic, and himself as Chairperson. A quorum was present. <br /> Council Member Ferlic noted that the purpose of the meeting was to interview the four <br /> (4) individuals who applied for consideration to be appointed to the Human Rights <br /> Commissions, namely: Pong Yin (Amy Le) Le, Elaine Meyer-Lee, Irdell Sanders, and <br /> Muhammed Shabazz. The Committee then proceeded to interview the first two (2) <br /> applicants separately by each being asked a series of questions. The last two applicants <br /> were not available when called. It was noted that Mr. Shabazz may have thought he was <br /> being interviewed for both positions when he was interviewed . <br /> Formal action will be taken at next Monday's Committee meeting. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Committee, Council Member Gavin <br /> Ferlic adjourned the meeting at 6:18 p.m. <br /> Mr. Irdell Sanders arrived later and as a result Council Member Gavin Ferlic reconvened <br /> the Community Investment Committee at 7:18 p.m. Dr. David Varner was present for this <br /> portion of the committee meeting.
