and they have been trying to get back in place for these services. Graduate students <br />make up 1 /3rd to 40% of the Student Body, but there are few services for them. There <br />was a discussion regarding upgrading the services available and offers to help with <br />mediation, neighborhood complaints and finding housing. There was an emphasis on <br />International students as they may require more assistance. The current site to access <br />is housing.nd.edu /off campus. <br />Brett Rocheleau reported the Chief of Police met off campus on campus safety. There <br />were not many break -ins over the holiday but several pedestrians were struck in the <br />Twyckenham and Vaness crosswalk. There will be a motion detection system there by <br />April that will allow a button to be pressed to warn drivers of pedestrians there — the <br />flashing yellow turns red. There will be two at Vaness and two on Douglas Road. There <br />will be a new Student Body President coming in for the next meeting. <br />M1 <br />Jeff Jones stated that the Chancellor is retiring on June 30, 2013 and the search is on <br />for a new Chancellor. Three candidates have been interviewed and a fourth will visit in <br />future. The recommended candidates will go to Bloomington and the choice will then be <br />made. The retiring Chancellor will continue as an Instructor. <br />NEIGHBORHOODS <br />Mike Carrington stated that the Excise Police have been out during football season and <br />have been doing a great job regarding enforcement including permits and licenses. <br />Matt Costello reported that complaints in the neighborhoods on student housing are way <br />down since,October of last year. 2012's lawn parking program went well noting it is <br />usually the same people and same properties in violation. <br />Khali Anthony stated Holladay properties was developing Belfrey and Darby Row. She <br />is planning an Open House and they are bringing amenities to Student housing geared <br />toward off - campus housing. <br />Marquerite Taylor and Luella Webster both discussed the Northwest Neighborhood <br />Association Conference where they met with Captain Hammer. Looking at crime <br />statistics, theirs are some of the lowest in the City. At the Safety Committee Meeting <br />they ran out of chairs, which had never happened before — things are going very well. <br />Mark Kramer stated there were 0 break -ins over the break and no attempts. Kramer <br />Properties is now leasing for the 2014 -2015 school year. <br />Cathy Toppel reports that complaints regarding student housing are down as were <br />complaints about lawn parking. <br />2 <br />
