Mark also noted that burglaries are down, almost non - existent, thanks <br />to the Dominic Zultanski and others in the SBPD burglary unit. <br />Tim Sexton noted that he has received few a -mails about programs and has identified <br />the landlord with respect to a problem on Marion. The Relay for Life took place at <br />Compton Ice Area on 4- 12 -13, with 1937 in attendance and over $200,000 raised, <br />compared to 1425 in 2012 and $175,000. <br />Kahli Anthony of Holladay Properties reported that residents will be moving into the <br />Belfry in June; most are filled but not all. Decorative bells for the belfry have arrived. <br />Ann Carol Nash added that the SBPD Burglary Unit also works with local second -hand <br />and precious metal dealers, to provide education on how to avoid accepting stolen <br />goods. Because of their fine work, the City was able to close a business dealing stolen <br />items. <br />Emily Flower reported that 180 people participated in the April 6, 2013, Homeward <br />Bound Walk, which raised money for six organizations: Center for the Homeless, Hope <br />Rescue Mission, Habitat for Humanity, Hannah's House, Bridges Out of Poverty, and <br />Robinson Community Learning Center. <br />LouElla Webster noted that there are still loud parties on Corby, but no real problems <br />Kathy Cekanski Farrand presented a draft ordinance, which officially establishes the <br />Community Campus Advisory Coalition, defines its duties and responsibilities, and <br />outlines its operation. The ordinance name is An Ordinance of the Common Council of <br />the City of South Bend, Indiana, Amending Various Sections of Chapter 14, Article 9, of <br />the South Bend Municipal Code, Addressing the Community Campus Advisory Coalition <br />(CCAC). Discussion on the ordinance: <br />IU Medical School (South Bend) should be an unofficial member of CCAC. <br />Mike Carrington stated the ordinance should refer to the Alcoholic Beverage Board, not <br />the Commission. <br />The City of South Bend Director of Code Enforcement should be included as a member <br />and asked to attend meetings. <br />There was a motion to accept the amended ordinance. The motion was second and <br />passed by affirmation. <br />A post -vote agreement was made to change the meeting frequency to read "not less <br />than 4 times per year." <br />Gavin Ferlic reported on results of the recent CCAC Survey: <br />3500 responses representing a diverse sample.
