PERSONNEL& FINANCE JANUARY 28, 2013 <br /> Committee Members Present: Dr. David Varner, Valerie Schey, Karen White, Henry Davis <br /> Other Council Present: Tim Scott, Dr. Fred Ferlic, Oliver Davis, Gavin Ferlic, Derek Dieter <br /> Others Present: Kathy Cekanski-Farrand, Mark Neal, Mike Schmuhl, Erin Blasko, John Murphy <br /> Agenda: Bill No. 06-13—Salary Non-Bargaining 2013 <br /> Dr. David Varner, Chairperson, Personal &Finance Committee opened the hearing with all members <br /> present. Committee member Henry Davis arrived a few minutes late; but was present for the vote. <br /> City Controller Mark Neal made a brief presentation of the only item scheduled for consideration, Bill No. <br /> 06-13. Providing two handouts (attached) Mark explained the bill was necessary to correct a <br /> mathematical discrepancy between the 2013 budgeted dollars and those listed in the 2013 salary <br /> ordinance. He characterized this as a scrivener's error corrected by this housekeeping bill. <br /> After brief discussion Karen White moved the bill be sent to Council favorably. Valerie Schey seconded <br /> and all affirmed. <br /> Under miscellaneous Oliver Davis asked the Controller to provide an accounting of funded yet, to date, <br /> unfilled positions in the city workforce. <br /> Derek Dieter announced there would be reception for the public to"meet and greet"the new police chief <br /> at the Kroc Center on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> There being no further business to come before the committee at this time, Chairperson Varner adjourned <br /> the meeting at 3:36 p.m. <br /> Respectfully Submitted, <br /> Dr. David Varner, Chairperson <br /> Personnel & Finance Committee <br />
