Century Center Water Softener Replacement © Copyright, M/E Design Services <br />South Bend, Indiana September 5, 2023 <br /> <br />GUARANTEES AND WARRANTIES 01740-1 <br /> <br />SECTION 01740 GUARANTEES AND WARRANTIES <br /> <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> <br />1.1 SUMMARY <br /> <br />A. Provide guarantees and warranties as defined in the General and Supplemental General <br />Conditions of the Contract Documents. Provide additional guarantees and warranties as <br />outlined elsewhere in the Specifications. <br /> <br />B. The Contractor shall guarantee the work for a period of one (1) year from the date of <br />acceptance (final completion) by the Owner, except where a longer guarantee is specified <br />and will thus control, and leave the work in perfect order at completion. <br /> <br />C. Disclaimers and Limitations: Manufacturer's disclaimers and limitations on product <br />warranties do not relieve the Contractor of the warranty on the work that incorporates the <br />product, nor does it relieve the suppliers, manufacturers and subcontractors required to <br />countersign special warranties with the Contractor. <br /> <br />1.2 WARRANTY REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />A. When correcting warranted work that has failed, remove and replace other work that has <br />been damaged as a result of such failure or that must be removed and replaced to provide <br />access for a correction of warranted work. <br /> <br />B. When work covered by warranty has failed and been corrected by replacement or <br />re-building, reinstate the warranty by written endorsement. <br /> <br />C. Written warranties made to the Owner are in addition to implied warranties and shall not <br />eliminate the duties, obligations, right and remedies otherwise available under law, nor <br />shall warranty period be interpreted as limitations on time in which the Owner can <br />enforce such duties, obligations, rights or remedies. <br /> <br />1.3 SUBMITTALS <br /> <br />A. This submission shall include Contractor's warranty on all work covered by the project, <br />along with copies of warranties specified elsewhere in the Construction Documents for <br />equipment and systems. The warranty period for this project shall not begin until <br />certification for final project acceptance has been made by the Contractor and approved <br />by the Engineer. <br /> <br /> <br />END OF SECTION 01740 <br />
