Appendix - Glossary of Definitions <br />DRUG DEFINITIONS- For purposes of this anti -drug plan, the <br />following definitions apply: <br />1. Accident - An incident reportable under any DOT Agency regulation. <br />2. Ali not - A portion of a specimen used for testing. <br />3. Chain of Custody - Means the procedures to account for the integrity of each urine specimen <br />by tracking its handling and storage from point of specimen collection to final <br />disposition of the specimen. These procedures shall require that an appropriate drug <br />testing custody form be used from time of collection to receipt by the laboratory and that <br />upon receipt by the laboratory an appropriate laboratory chain of custody form account <br />for the sample within the laboratory. <br />4. Collection Site - Means the place(s) designated by Trisco Systems where an individual <br />presents himself/herself for the purpose of providing a urine specimen to be <br />analyzed for the presence of drugs. <br />5. Confirmatory Test - Means a second analytical procedure to identify the presence of a <br />specific drug or metabolite which is independent of the initial test and which uses <br />a different technique and chemical principle from that of the initial test in order to ensure <br />reliability and accuracy. Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) is the only <br />authorized confirmation method. <br />6. Covered Employee - Means a person who performs as a CDL transportation driver regulated <br />by the DOT Part 382 or other person identified by Company policy; An individual <br />designated in a DOT agency regulation as subject to drug urine testing and the donor or a <br />specimen. "Employee" and "Individual" or "Individual to be tested" have the same <br />meaning for purposes of this policy. <br />7. DHHS - The Department of Health and Human Services, or any designee of the Secretary, <br />Department of Health and Human Services. <br />8. DOT Agency - Means any agency of the United States Department of Transportation <br />administering regulations requiring compliance with this policy, including, but <br />not limited to, the Federal Highway Administration and the Federal Highway <br />Administration (FHWA). <br />9. Initial Test - An immunoassay screen to eliminate "negative" urine specimens from further <br />consideration (also known as screening test.) <br />67 <br />
