<br /> <br />315 West Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, IN 46601 • 574.232.8700 <br /> <br />abonmarche.com <br />Engineering • Architecture • Land Surveying <br /> <br /> <br />Downtown South Bend to Notre Dame Trail <br /> <br />Scope of Services <br /> <br />The Notre Dame to Downtown South Bend Trail begins north of the intersection of LaSalle <br />Street and Hill Street and continues north along Hill Street then northeast along South Bend <br />Avenue then turns north along Notre Dame Avenue to Angela Street. The goal of this project <br />is to provide a safe path for all modes of travel to go between the University of Notre Dame <br />and Downtown South Bend. Additionally, another goal of this project is to attract new <br />businesses and visitors to the area. The scope of work is described in more detail as follows: <br /> <br />A. Topographic Survey: <br />1. Limits of the topographic survey are as shown in Exhibit A and as described as follows: <br />a. Hill Street, South Bend Avenue, and Notre Dame Avenue from LaSalle Street to <br />Angela Boulevard, a total length of approximately 5,600 feet. The total width of <br />survey will be 80 - 100 feet, including 40 - 50 feet on either side of the apparent <br />centerline of each street. <br />b. Additional topographic survey will be collected at each intersection. At tertiary <br />intersections, an additional 200 feet will be collected in each direction. At primary <br />and secondary intersections, an additional 300 feet will be collected in each <br />direction. <br />c. The intersection of LaSalle Street and Doctor MLK Jr Blvd will be surveyed <br />approximately 150 feet to the east and the south and 50 feet to the west and <br />north of the intersection. The survey of the intersection will be extended south and <br />east to include the Gwen Stiver Park trailhead. <br />d. Madison Street from the East Bank Trail to Hill Street. Include topographic survey <br />from centerline of road to south right of way. <br />3. At a minimum, the topographic survey will include the location and elevation of all <br />topographic features, including underground and overhead utilities, fences, buildings, <br />paved and gravel surfaces, driveways, toe of slope, top of bank, headwalls, sanitary <br />and storm sewer pipes and culverts including pipe sizes, inverts and direction of pipes, <br />shrubs, signs, poles, manholes, valves and meters, all individual trees, except only limits <br />will be provided in heavily wooded areas, and all other appurtenant visible features. <br />4. Existing underground utilities will be located as marked by Indiana Underground Plant <br />Protection Service. <br />5. Prior to field work, survey notices will be distributed to each property owner in <br />accordance with Public Law 18-1990, Sec. 216 under Indiana Code 8-23-7-26 through <br />8-23-8-28. <br />9. Control points and references will be set in sufficient detail to re-establish the <br />construction centerline. <br />10. Benchmarks will be set and referenced at each end of the project and at 500 foot
