<br /> AN ORDINANCE FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES AND WAGES OF APPOINTED
<br /> OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
<br /> FOR THE CALENDAR YEARS OF 1987, 1988 AND 1989.
<br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
<br /> Pursuant to Indiana Code Section 36-4-7-3, the Mayor fixes the
<br /> compensation of each appointive officer, deputy, and other employees of
<br /> the City. All such wages and salaries are subject to approval by the
<br /> Common Council.
<br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
<br /> INDIANA, as follows:
<br /> SECTION I. For calendar years 1987, 1988 and 1989, maximum base
<br /> salaries and wages for the following appointed officers and employees of
<br /> the City of South Bend, Indiana, shall be no more than as listed below in
<br /> this section; provided, however, that nothing herein shall exclude the
<br /> applicability of Section VI of this ordinance, should the events set forth
<br /> herein occur; and further, provided that the Controller shall be
<br /> authorized to allocate distribution of 1987 annual salaries and wages in a
<br /> manner that will enable all officers and employees in job classifications
<br /> listed herein who are not members of Teamsters Local No. 364 to receive
<br /> an increase in the annual wage rate of their job classification
<br /> effective January 1, 1987.
