FROM WESTERN AVE. , TO 1ST INTERSECTING <br /> E/W ALLEY <br /> Dear Members of the Council: <br /> In accordance with Municipal Code Section 18-53 .8, a favorable <br /> recommendation is being submitted to the Common Council concerning <br /> the Vacation Petition filed by Vendel Vegh, 1530 Western Avenue, <br /> South Bend, Indiana, and Mr. G. R. Jrjanosko, Assistant <br /> Vice-President, Norfolk Southern Corporation, 8 North Jefferson <br /> Street, Roanoke, Virginia, to vacate the 1st north/south alley east <br /> of Kosciuszko Street running south from Western Avenue to the 1st <br /> intersecting east/west alley for a distance of 102 feet more or <br /> less, all being in the J.M. Studebaker Sub of Lot One (1) Harper and <br /> Ruckman survey within the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, <br /> Indiana. <br /> For your information, a Public Hearing concerning the Vacation <br /> Petition as filed was held by the Board of Public Works on June 10, <br /> 1986. Mr. Vendel Vegh, Petitioner, was present and spoke in favor <br /> of the vacation. Additionally, Mr. Greg Celmer 520 Kosciuszko, <br /> South Bend, Indiana, was present and stated that he was in favor of <br /> the vacation. There was no one else present wishing to speak either <br /> for or against the Petition and no written objections were filed <br /> with the Board. A copy of the excerpts of the minutes of the Public <br /> Hearing is enclosed for your information. <br /> Based on favorable comments made at the Public Hearing and favorable <br /> comments received from the Engineering Department, Area Plan <br /> Commission and the Department of Economic Development, the Board of <br /> Public Works favorably recommends the vacation of the above referred <br /> to alley subject to any and all utility easements. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> ,. /1)1-‘e_ll'aLIX).
