Russell Stapp, Architect / “Baker House” <br />Property Owner: KELLER THOMAS P & QUINN BRID- <br />GET K <br />Landmark or District Designation: East Wayne Street Local <br />Historic District, Ordinance # 7796-87 <br />Rating: Notable <br /> <br />DESCRIPTION OF STRUCTURE/ SITE: The home at 1321 E. Wayne Street South is a 2-story frame construc- <br />tion faced with brick on an “L” plan. The house has a gable roof with gable returns, simple entablature and dentil <br />row with asphalt shingles. The windows on the main body of the house are 6/1 double hung sashes with flat arch <br />lintels with keystone and cast concrete sill. The windows have wood paneled and louvered shutters with cu-out tree <br />motif. The house has a gable entry with an arch under, entablature and dentil row in gable rake supported by <br />square box columns. The porch is brick and the entryway has a paneled door with sidelights and a wood sunburst <br />pattern fanlight. There is an aluminum sided shed roof addition on the one story wing at the rear. There is a two <br />car two door brick gable roof garage with asphalt shingles. <br />ALTERATIONS: The rear shed addition was constructed in 1987. COA 1998-0316 allowed for the construction <br />of a 6’ privacy fence. COA 2011-0929 allowed for the construction of three attic dormers on the front façade. <br />RME 2016-0817 allowed for the removal/replacement of the asphalt shingle roof on two porches.. AA 2022-0602A <br />allowed for the removal/replacement of the architectural shingled roof. <br />APPLICATION ITEMS: “Replace existing white aluminum siding with new cedar shake vinyl siding in <br />“flagstone grey”. Replace one half round window with new half round vinyl window (white interior/white exteri- <br />or). Replace some existing white soffit with new vented white soffit and install some ventilation shoots in eave/attic <br />space.” <br />DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT: The applicant has requested approval to: <br />Make alterations to an existing later addition to the main house at rear of structure, including <br />• Remove existing aluminum siding and replace it with CertainTeed Vinyl Cedar Impressions Double 7” Straight <br />Edge Perfection Shingles 3G in the color “Flagstone Grey” <br />• Remove/replace existing casement/circle top window with Provia Endure Slider/Circle Top vinyl window <br />• Circle top window will be Double Sunburst Grid Style/Contoured Grid in CT-8 Grid Pattern <br />• Remove/replace existing soffit/fascia on 1987 addition with new soffit/fascia. <br />STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES: See Standards and Guidelines: <br />• Windows — pages 12-13 <br />• Walls — pages 26-28
