PUBLIC WORKS AND PROPERTY VACATION JUNE 23, 2008 Committee Members Present: Councilmember's David Varner, Chairperson, Henry Davis Others Present: Councilmember Tim Rouse, Councilmember Karen White, Jeff Gibney, Michael Danch, Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, John Voorde Councilmember David Varner, Chairperson, Public Works and Property Vacation Committee called the meeting to order at 3:36 p.m., and noted that this meeting is for information purposes only as there was no quorum present to make recommendation to full Council. Councilmember Varner recognized Mike Danch, a registered surveyor, to explain the request. Mr. Danch supplemented by Jeff Gibney explained this area's parcels were being assembled to create a marketable nano-technology park. Councilmember Varner asked about the boundaries of the "park." Mr. Gibney said he looked forward to the opportunity to outline the nano-technology park plans. Councilmember Tim Rouse expressed the need to be ready for future development opportunities. No quorum prevented a recommendation. BILL N0.40-08 ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION This bill requests an appropriation totaling $4,155,446 for various capital expenditures in 2008. Catherine Fanello, assisted by Mayor Luecke outlined the requests in detail using a handout attached to these minutes. The breakdown of funds drawn from included $1,367,508 from the General Fund, $1,000,000 from Major Moves, $140,000 from Local Road & Streets, $300,000 form MVH, $1,170,438 from Sewage Works, and $177,500 from the Water Capital Fund. No quorum resulted in no recommendation. BILL N0.41-08 CORRECTION ON APPROPRIATION The purpose of this bill is to make a technical bookkeeping correction to an appropriation bill passed last year.
