EXECUTIVE SESSION FEBRUARY 6 2013 16
<br />The Board of Public Safety met in the Executive Session on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at 8:32
<br />a.m. The meeting was held in the Board of Works Conference Room, 13th Floor, County City
<br />Building, South Bend, Indiana, for the purposes specified in I.C. 5-14-1.5-6. 1 (b)(6)(A) regarding
<br />Disciplinary Action. Board President Patrick Cottrell and Board Members Eddie Miller, John
<br />Collins, and Luther Taylor were present. Board Member Laura Vasquez was absent. Also present
<br />was Attorney Andrea Beachkofsky and Police Chief Ronald Teachman. Board members did not
<br />discuss any subject matter other than the subject matter as specified in the Public Notice. The
<br />meeting adjourned at 8:42 a.m.

<br />The Board of Public Safety met in a Special Meeting at 8:43 a.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2013,
<br />with Board President Patrick D. Cottrell, and Board Members Eddie Miller, John Collins, and Luther
<br />Taylor present. Board Member Laura Vasquez was absent. Also present was Board Attorney Andrea
<br />Beachkofsky and Police Chief Ronald Teachman.
<br />The meeting was held in the Board of Public Works Conference Room, 13th Floor County -City
<br />Building, South Bend, Indiana.
<br />POLICE DEPARTMENT
<br />APPROVE CONTINUANCE AND SET HEARING OF CHARGES NO. 2013 -01— THEODORE
<br />ROBERT
<br />President Cottrell stated Mr. Robert's attorney requested a continuance of the Hearing of Charges
<br />No. 2013 -01. He stated the next available date for everyone is March 25, 2013, at 1:00 p.m.
<br />Therefore, upon a motion by Mr. Miller, seconded by Mr. Taylor and carried, the Board of Safety
<br />approved the request for a continuance and set the Hearing of Charges No. 2013 -01, Theodore
<br />Robert, for March 25, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Board of Works Conference Room, 13th Floor,
<br />County -City Building. Ms. Beachkofsky stated she does not object to a thirty (30) day continuance to
<br />allow for Mr. Grimes, Attorney for Mr. Robert, to complete his discovery and to accommodate his
<br />schedule.
<br />SET HEARING OF CHARGES NO. 2013 -03 — PATRICIA BYRD
<br />President Cottrell stated Patrolman Patricia Byrd has requested a Hearing of her Charges No. 2013-
<br />03. He noted the next available date for everyone is March 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Therefore, upon a
<br />motion by Mr. Miller, seconded by Mr, Collins and carried, the Board of Safety set the Hearing of
<br />Charges No. 2013 -03, Patricia Byrd, for March 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Common Council
<br />Chambers, 4th Floor, County -City Building.
<br />ADJOURNMENT
<br />There being no further business to come before the Board, Mr. Cottrell declared the meeting
<br />adjourned at 8:46 a.m.
