The roof is cross gable with asphalt shingles. Windows <br />are vinyl replacement double hung. Full length front porch with wood floor, columns, wood railings and ballus- <br />trades. <br />ALTERATIONS: AA 2020-0522 allowed for the replacement of vinyl windows with new vinyl windows, replace- <br />ment of wood siding with new wood siding, reconstruction of the front porch/piers/pillars, repair of masonry, the <br />installation of a new storm door, and the removal/replacement of gutters with new aluminum gutters. COA 2014- <br />0529 allowed for roof replacement. COA 2012-0703 allowed for the construction of a steel shed at the rear of the <br />property per submitted drawings. COA 1999-0924-3 allowed for replacement of the windows with Sunrise Brand <br />windows. COA 1992-0214 allowed for replacement of the gravel driveway and parking area. COA 1991-0807 al- <br />lowed for replacement of rear doors, etc. COA 1986-1105 allowed for the removal of a Catalpa tree. COA 1985- <br />1021 allowed for the paving of the rear lot and rear alterations. <br />APPLICATION ITEMS: “Building a 6’ black wooden privacy fence around the back yard.” <br />DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT: The applicant has requested approval to: <br />Construct a 6’ privacy fence around the rear of the property, in compliance with zoning set-backs and restrictions. <br />The requested fence is to be in a ’horizontal’ board configuration. <br />STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES: See Standards and Guidelines, pages 12-13. <br />SITE VISIT REPORT: <br />N/A <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: The Standards and Guidelines state that “ rear and side yard fences should start <br />no further forward on the site than the front wall of the house, no taller than six feet, and may be solid in construc- <br />tion,” as well as “new rear and side yard fences should be constructed of wood” (page 11). The Standards and <br />Guidelines also state that “The following is not recommended and generally not approved by the Commission: […] <br />chain-link, barbed wire, or vinyl fencing; horizontal board fencing” [emphasis added].
