3SOUTH BEND, INDIANA GSC
Kokosing is proud to submit this proposal to the City of South Bend for the Wastewater Treatment
Plant (WWTP)/Combined Sewer Overflow 045 (CSO 045) Equalization (EQ) Basin Project. The
sections and pages that follow provide a concise summary of who we are and what we believe in.
A. PROVIDER INFORMATION
Kokosing was founded in 1951 in Fredericktown, Ohio and was first known as the William Burgett Construction Company. The early project list included small commercial and farm buildings, plus residential construction projects. Success fueled expansion and in 1954, a one-acre parcel of land was purchased where an office and shop were built. Bill renamed the company Kokosing, after the Ohio scenic river that flows past the original office and is now the home of support department offices, maintenance shop, equipment yard, truck and storage building, and supply yard.
In 1974, Kokosing built its first water treatment plant in
Wadsworth, Ohio. Today, Kokosing is a diversified family-
owned business with facilities and affiliated companies across
the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic. Our work experience includes
work in Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants, Underground Utility Systems, Industrial Facility
Construction, Manufacturing, Commercial Buildings, Process Plants, Parking Garages, Roads, Bridges
and Marine work. Kokosing’s buying power means every project gets the best equipment prices, most
skilled craftsmen, and industry leading project management.
Kokosing Industrial (www.kokosing.biz) was incorporated in 2015, separating our industrial facility
work from our transportation work. Kokosing Industrial builds facilities regardless of what their end
use is or who their end Owner is including:
h Wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, CSO facilities, collection systems, outfall pipes
h Water treatment plants, intake systems, booster stations, storage tanks, and pipelines
h Marine construction including subaqueous cable
h Dam modification, rehabilitation, and construction
h Natural gas and power generation facilities
h Heavy industrial manufacturing facilities, industrial wastewater pre-treatment
Since that first water treatment plant, we have averaged a project completion rate of 25 jobs per year
to construct, upgrade, and expand critical infrastructure. When we step onto your job site, we bring
the know-how and experience of over 1,100 infrastructure projects with us.
SECTION 2
COMPANY BACKGROUND AND
QUALIFICATIONS
