CITY OF TOLEDO AND TOLEDO WATERWAYS INITIATIVE <br />Ottawa River Storage Facility <br />Toledo, OH <br />71 <br />This project consisted of two main elements: the pumping station, <br />storage basin and park restoration work; and conveyance and <br />roadway improvement work. <br />The pumping station, storage basin and park restoration work <br />consisted of: <br />• Construction of a 36.3 million gallon underground concrete <br />wastewater storage basin <br />• Construction of a 172 MGD capacity pumping station <br />The Storage Basin Influent Pump Station included: <br />• 6 bar screens upstream of the pumps, each 9'-2" wide X 32'- <br />6" Tall <br />• Serviced by OVIVO Sewage Bosker Raking Machine that <br />operated from an overhead trolley. <br />• Each stainless steel bar screens were designed for a peak flow <br />of 60 MGD <br />The conveyance and roadway improvement work consisted of: <br />• Construction of pipelines, diversion and outfall structures <br />necessary to divert sewer system overflows to the pumping <br />station and storage basin and return the diverted wastewater <br />from the storage basin to the sewer system <br />• Separation of combined sewers by the construction of new <br />storm sewers <br />• Restoration and reconstruction of roadways affected by the <br />above items <br />The park restoration work consisted of: <br />• Earthwork to cover the tank and establish finished grade <br />• Construction of baseball field with bleachers, tennis courts, <br />and playground area with picnic pavillion <br />• Construction of parking areas and paved trails <br />El <br />AGC 2018 <br />Winner of the <br />Build Ohio Award <br />Industrial Heavy <br />
