Responses to Questions received July 6, 2023:
1. Pay item #10 is "Remove Water Structure."
a. Can you clarify what this is referring to? The plans show to remove and relocate
1 EA fire hydrant, and remove and dispose of existing water main, assumed to be paid
under pay items #29 and #9, respectively.
ANSWER: Item 10 is a duplicate and has been removed from the Bid/Proposal form.
Attached please find revised form.
Is pressure and bac-t testing required on the water main/hydrant relocation portion of
the project?
ANSWER: Yes.
3. If there is a poured thrust block at the back of the existing hydrant that is to be
relocated, are we to remove and dispose of this, or leave in place and bury?
ANSWER: Remove and dispose.
4. It is not anticipated that dewatering will be necessary, if so it will be paid under the bid
allowance, correct?
ANSWER: Correct.
The existing aggregate at the sidewalk area in front of the building can be reused as the
agg base as shown on the plan details 12/C3.0 and 11/0.0.
ANSWER: This is correct. The Contractor must still ensure that compaction
requirements from Specifications are met.
Version 8/11/2020
