VINCENT <br /> Dear Members of the Council: <br /> In accordance with Municipal Code Section 18-53 .8 , a favorable <br /> recommendation is being submitted to the Common Council <br /> concerning the Vacation Petition filed by the following <br /> individuals to vacate the first north/south alley east of Eddy <br /> Street running north from St. Vincent Street to the intersecting <br /> east/west alley for a distance of 360 feet ± all being in Hartman <br /> & Miller Addition to the City of South Bend, St . Joseph County, <br /> Indiana: <br /> J. Findley May, Jr. 1105 Georgiana Street <br /> Gene DeFauw 1107 Georgiana Street <br /> Housing Authority of So. Bend 1104 N. Eddy Street <br /> Myron J. & Pauline F. Busby 1112 N. Eddy Street <br /> Wayne R. & Shirley J. McMahon 1114 N. Eddy Street <br /> Kingdom Hall of Jehovah' s Witness 1118 N. Eddy Street <br /> Johnnie R. Johnson 1124 N. Eddy Street <br /> For your information, a Public Hearing concerning this proposed <br /> vacation was held by the Board of Public Works on May 6 , 1986 . i <br /> Mr. Johnnie Johnson, 1124 North Eddy Street, was present and <br /> spoke in favor of the vacation. There was no one else present <br /> wishing to speak either for or against the Petition and no <br /> written objections were filed with the Board. <br /> In order to give Board members an opportunity to visit the site <br /> of the proposed alley to be vacated, the decision on the matter <br /> was tabled until May 13 , 1986 . Based on a site inspection having <br /> been conducted by the Board and favorable recommendations <br /> received from the Engineering Department , Area Plan Commission <br /> and Department of Economic Development concerning this vacation, <br /> the Board of Public Works favorably recommends vacation of the <br /> above referred to alley subject to any and all utility easements . <br />
