The Common Council will consider a mixed-use
development real property tax abatement for parcels that are included in a low-income housing
tax credit project named Diamond View Apartments, which is comprised of an affordable
housing building and a market-rate apartment building with offices.
On June 12, the Common Council approved a Reconfirming Resolution for the affordable
housing building and a Declaratory Resolution for the mixed-use/market-rate building. The
Council will now consider the Confirming Resolution for the market-rate building. This petition
package includes:
• Department of Community Investment's summary report
• A summary provided by the petitioner of the project
• Petition for abatement
• Statement of Benefits forms (SB-1 / Real Property)
• Supporting information
The report contains the Department's findings relative to the above-mentioned petitions. In
summary, the abatement covers the 60-unit market-rate apartment building with offices. A
representative from RealAmerica will be available to meet with the Committee on Monday, June
26, 2023.
If you or any of the other Council members have questions concerning the report or need
additional information, please feel free to call me at(574) 235-5838.
Sincerely,
Erik Glavich
Director, Growth and Opportunity
EXCELLENCE ACCOUNTABILITY INNOVATION INCLUSION EMPOWERMENT
1400S County City Building 227W.Jefferson Blvd. South Bend,Indiana 46601 p 574.235.9371 www.southbendin.gov
