STAFF REPORT <br /> COMMON COUNCIL INITIATED #1062-86 December 2, 1986 <br /> 1700 Block E. Randolph St. <br /> City of South Bend <br /> REQUESTED ACTION: This is a proposal to rezone a large tract of land <br /> from "E" Heavy Industrial, "F" Height and Area to <br /> "A" Residential, "A" Height and Area. <br /> EXISTING LAND USE: The property is vacant . <br /> SURROUNDING LAND USE AND ZONING: Located to the north are the New York Central <br /> railroad tracks; to the east is a City owned <br /> retention pond zoned "E" Heavy Industrial; to the <br /> south across Randolph Street is vacant land zoned <br /> . "A" Residential; and to the west are two single- <br /> family homes zoned "B" Residential and the Bamar <br /> Plastics , Inc. facility zoned "D" Light <br /> Industrial. <br /> DATA: The total site to be rezoned is 2.7 acres. <br /> SITE PLAN: A site plan is not required for rezonings to "A" <br /> Residential or initiated by the Common Council. <br /> • January 8, 1987 <br /> STAFF COMMENTS: This rezoning proposal was tabled at the Area Plan <br /> Commission meeting of December 16, 1986, at the <br /> request of the petitioner. <br /> • <br /> • <br /> • <br />
