'ottttttittuu ort: <br /> tontntunitv an (tottotttie IReVeloptent Qtontmitfe <br /> The February 26, 2001 meeting of the Community and Economic Development Committee was <br /> called to order by its Chairperson, Council Member Roland Kelly at 3:15 p.m. in the Council <br /> Informal Meeting Room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Aranowski,King,Kelly, White, Varner, Ujdak, <br /> Coleman and Kirsits; Mike Urbanski, Community and Economic Development Director Jon Hunt, <br /> Historic Preservation Commission Acting Director John Oxian, Economic Development Specialist <br /> Cassandra Moran,Terry Bland of the *QUO WO tribune, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, <br /> Council Attorney. <br /> Council Member Kelly noted that the first item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 01-11 which <br /> is a five(5) year residential real property tax abatement request of Timothy and Ruth Weldy for the <br /> property located at 321 South 35th Street. <br /> Cassandra Moran summarized the February 20, 2001 Tax Abatement Report(copy attached) which <br /> notes that petitioner proposes to construct one(1) ranch style home of 1,036 square feet which will <br /> have three(3)bedrooms, two(2) baths and a two-car garage with an estimated value of <br /> $ 90,250.00. The report concluded that the petitioner meets the qualifications for the requested <br /> abated and the provisions of§ 2-77.1 of the South Bend Municipal Code addressing single family <br /> real property abatement. <br /> Mike Urbanski represented the petitioners and noted that the home will be constructed on a now <br /> vacant lot just north of Jefferson Boulevard. <br /> Council Member Kelly stated that he welcomes this positive addition to the Riverpark <br /> Neighborhood. <br /> Following discussion, Council Member Kirsits made a motion, seconded by Council Member <br /> Ujdak that Bill No. 01-11 be recommended favorably to Council.
