Mr. & Mrs. Gallegos are <br />seeking to keep the property clean, fence the area and make their yard bigger. Community & <br />tEconornnic Development stated that the area where the vacant lot sits is an area of interest for <br />possible future expansion of the Studebaker Industrial Dark, although there is no timeframe. <br />Corn:nmunity & Economic Development recommended denying the request based on that <br />possibility. Mayor Steve Luecke recommended making an agreement with the Gallegos' so they <br />wol"nld maintain, lase, and possibly fence the lot with the understanding that they relinquish it <br />s'�h ould the need arise by the City. Ms. Greene stated that they would have to create an agreement <br />to sell the property, possibly for one dollar with the stipulation that the City can buy it back for <br />that amount if the need arises in the future. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. <br />:,ittrell and carried, the request to purchase the property was tabled until the next meeting. Cilot indicated that Mr. `Pony Molnar, Engineering, has submitted a request to vacate the <br />above referred to alley. Mr. Littrell advised the Board would not need to receive <br />re�cor nmenndations from other departments because the surrounding property is owned by the <br />IZ_c::deveJopment Commission. The vacation would not hinder the growth or orderly development <br />of the unit or neighborhood in which it is located or to which it is contiguous. The vacation <br />would riot make access to the lands of the aggrieved person by means of public way difficult or <br />innconvenient. The vacation would not hinder the public's access to a church, school or other <br />public building or place. The vacation would not hinder the use of a public right- of-way by the <br />n elghborhood in which it is located or to which it is contiguous. Wherefore, Mr. Inks made a <br />motion that the alley vacation be approved as requested. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />1� 1ANG OF SAFETY REPORTS —DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />The Division of Central Services submitted Safety Reports for the month of April, 2004. These <br />reports reflect injuries/accidents for each month and provide for a comparison. There being no <br />further discussion, upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the <br />reports were acceptedand filed. <br />1'ILI1vJG_O OF MONTHLY AND PER-FORIVANCE MEAStJ E REPORTS — DEPARTMENT <br />O l"UBLIC WORDS <br />The Division of Central Services submitted their Monthly and Performance Reports for the <br />month of April, 2004 There being no further discussion, upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, <br />seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the monthly reports were accepted and filed. <br />1I1 [!\!
