Jefferson Boulevard <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />RE: MBE/WBE GOALS <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND 2021 DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS <br />BID B, PROJECT NO.121-006B <br />To Whom It May Concern: <br />The contract special provisions for the above referenced project, has applied certain WBE/MBE goals for <br />both Division 1 and Division 2. Division 1 has stated goals of 2.3% for MBE and 4.7% for WBE. Division 2 <br />has stated goals of 2.4% for MBE and 4.8% for VIBE. As you will see from our bidding documents, the <br />WBE goal has been exceeded in both divisions. <br />We were unable to meet the stated goals of MBE for both Divisions. It is our best estimation that the <br />contract will require approximately 8 hours of dump truck hauling to complete the project. At the time of <br />bidding, we were able to provide 8 hours of an MBE hauling business (Pt Class Logistics). This equates to <br />$968.00 of MBE. Due to the limited contract work items of this job, there are no other MBE subcontractors <br />or suppliers to perform any other portions of the work. <br />We attempted to attain additional MBE dollars from our paving subcontractor Rieth-Riley Construction. <br />They were unable to provide any MBE dollars within their scope (see attached). <br />Thank you for your understanding in this matter. <br />Sincerely, <br />Justin Butler <br />
