rental unit does not comply with RSVP Inspection Standards. <br />p) Inspection Report will be made available for the tenant who occupies the rental unit at the <br />time of the inspection. Unless other arrangements are made with the Department, the <br />Inspection Report may be sent to the tenant who occupies the rental unit upon request as <br />approved by the Department. <br />q) Stop Work Order. To further the purposes of Secs. 6-79 and 6-81, and in conjunction with <br />Chapter 16, Article 8 of the South Bend Municipal Code, the Department may issue stop <br />work orders. <br />1) Authority. Whenever any work regulated by this Article is being performed in a <br />manner contrary to the provisions of this Article or in a dangerous or unsafe <br />manner,the Department is authorized to issue a stop work order. <br />2) Issuance. A stop work order shall be in writing and shall be given to the owner or <br />to the person doing the work. Upon issuance of a stop work order, the cited work <br />shall immediately cease. The stop work order shall state the reason for the order <br />and the conditions under which the cited work is authorized to resume. <br />3) Emergencies. Where an emergency exists that poses an immediate threat to life, <br />health, or safety of persons or property, the Department shall not be required to <br />give a written notice prior to stopping the work. <br />4) Failure to comply. Any person who shall continue any work after having been <br />served with a stop work order, except such work as that person is directed to <br />perform to remove a violation or unsafe condition, shall be liable to a penalty of <br />not less than $500.00 dollars or more than $2,500.00 dollars per day. <br />r) The owner is required to provide the Department with current contact information. <br />1) At the time the owner informs the Department of the arrangements made to <br />complete the Inspection, the owner shall provide, or confirm with,the Department <br />their name, telephone number, email address, and mailing address, as well as the <br />name, telephone number, email address, and mailing address of the unit's property <br />manager, if any. <br />2) Should the ownership or contact information related to a unit change, it is the <br />responsibility of the owner to update official property records with St. Joseph <br />County and to notify the Department. <br />Sec. 6-83. Approved certification for rental. <br />a) The Inspection Certificate will be issued after the rental unit passes Inspection and all fees <br />and penalties due under this Article are paid. <br />b) An Inspection Certificate will not be issued for a rental unit, and may be revoked, if: <br />1) a unit does not meet RSVP Inspection Standards, or <br />2) there are any fees or penalties due under this Article.
