Parks,Recreation,Cultural Arts anc4 Entertainment Committee
November 26, 2001
Page 2
Mr. Andres inquired how many local LINKS members there are. It was noted that there are 24
local members and that any savings would permit more under privileged to come to the concert.
Council Member White suggested that the local churches be contacted by letter as well as personal
contact with each church sponsoring 10 to 20 children.
Mrs. Miles stated that there has been a slow response to date and minimal company sponsorship in
light of the economy.
Mr. Andres noted that it would be possible to encumber money for advertisement with such
obligations being paid out of the ticket sales.
Council Member Coleman suggested that the Gospel community be approached and that we all
consider creative things that all of us can do.
Mrs. Butts noted that the Morris Civic must be sold out for the event to break even and that this is
the first time that the Harlem Boys Choir will be in our city. Council Member Coleman thanked
Mrs. Butts and Mrs. Miles for coming to the Committee meeting and stated that he would be back
in touch with them.
There being no further business to come before the Committee, Council Member Coleman
adjourned the meeting at 5:30 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Council Member Sean Coleman, Chairperson
Parks,Recreation, Cultural Arts and Entertainment Committee
KCF:kmf
Attachment
