atommitttt Ztport: <br /> Personnel and Finance Committee <br /> tfjt Common QCountil of the eitv of 6outb n : <br /> The February 14, 2000 meeting of the Personnel and Finance was called to order by its <br /> Chairperson, Council Member James Aranowski, at 4:05 p.m. in the Council informal <br /> meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Aranowski, Varner, Ujdak, Pfeifer, <br /> Kelly, White, Kirsits and King; Sam Hensley, John Stancoti,Jack Dillon, Cathy Roemer, <br /> Jon Hunt, Assistant Fire Chief Rick Switalski, Chief Luther Taylor, Terry Bland and <br /> Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, Council Attorney. <br /> Council Member Aranowski noted that the Council Members on the Committee included <br /> Council Members Varner,King,White and himself. Keith Crane provided a handout dated <br /> January 11,2000 to the Committee addressing network fundamentals. <br /> Council Member Aranowski stated that the only item on the agenda was to review Bill No. <br /> 9-00 which addresses the City's blanket performance bond. <br /> M. Catherine Roemer, City Controller, made the presentation. She stated that the Bill <br /> establishes a blanket bond of one million dollars to cover the faithful performance of <br /> persons with duties on behalf of the City. She noted that the blanket bond would cover the <br /> St. Joseph County Treasurer. If the Bill is passed, the second endorsement would be <br /> eliminated thus saving dollars for the City. She noted that the Bill was a housekeeping <br /> measure. <br /> Following discussion, Council Member King made a motion, seconded by Council <br /> Member White, that Bill No. 9-00 be recommended favorably to Council.
