Personnel and Finance Committee <br /> February 28, 2000 <br /> Page 2 <br /> Council Member Ujdak noted that the Bill was now suggesting a per page document fee of <br /> $.10 rather than the $ .09 as originally proposed. Mr. Jankowski noted that a substitute <br /> bill to that effect had been sent to the City Clerk's Office. The Council Attorney noted that <br /> that version had not been distributed yet, in light of additional amendments which were <br /> being considered to the Bill since last week. Council Member Ujdak noted that the City of <br /> Mishawaka currently charges $ .15 per page for letter and legal size copies and $ .25 per <br /> page for 11' x 17' size pages. <br /> Council Member Ujdak also noted that he has suggested that fees generated for documents <br /> from the Fire Department remain with the Fire Department, and that fees generated for <br /> documents from the Police Department remain with the Police Department. <br /> The Council Attorney then provided copies of proposed language to Bill No. 19-00 which <br /> would capture monies for the EMS capital fund for ems and fire equipment and fire station <br /> repairs. (copy attached indicating Chief Taylor's approval). She also noted that Chief <br /> h South <br /> into the from the Police Department bedeposited <br /> s in a Bement that fees <br /> Bennett was <br /> Bend Regional P lice Academy Fund for training supplies and equipment. She noted that <br /> h Council is r <br /> she concurred with Mr. Jankowski that the C required to establish a fee schedule <br /> for the certification,copying and facsimile transmission of documents which do not exceed <br /> the actual cost for such services. The actual cost includes the cost of paper plus the per- <br /> page cost of the use of the copying or facsimile machine excluding labor and overhead <br /> (copy of the Indiana Attorney General's Office of the Publi Access Counselor information <br /> attached). <br /> Following discussion, Council Member Varner made a motion, seconded by Council <br /> Member King that Bill No. 19-00 be recommended favorably with amendments to include <br /> a $ .10 per page document fee for copies; a $ 3.00 Fire/EMS Report, fire fees being <br /> deposited into the EMS capital fund, and police fees being deposited into the South Bend <br /> Regional Police Academy Fund.
