Filed in Clerk's Office <br /> SUBSTITUTE BILL NO.23-13 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 5010-23 MAR 2 l 2023 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF S# 11, : <br /> RECOMMENDING TO THE MAYOR CERTAIN APPLICANTS FOR THE ' `rhl h - ` ' ''�w , I B <br /> THE COMMUNITY POLICE REVIEW BOARD OFFICE <br /> Off.., , on October 5, 2020, the South Bend Common Council passed Ordinance No. 10721-20 <br /> establishing the Community Police Review Board, Review Board Office, and position of Review Board Office <br /> Director; and <br /> 91 on August 9, 2021, the Common Council also passed Ordinance No. 10804- 21 amending the <br /> Ordinance and moving the Review Board Office to be within the Mayoral administration with involvement and <br /> oversight by the Common Council; and <br /> 9/(.4 on March 14, 2022, the Common Council passed Resolution No. 4948-22, establishing a process <br /> for selection of Community Police Review Board Office Director&A Process for the Appointment of the Initial <br /> Review Board Members; and <br /> 9‘...e, the interview process for the Community Police Review Board Director was completed on March 20, <br /> 2023, at a Public Forum to meet and consider candidates; and <br /> 9/C.24, on March 22, 2023, pursuant to the Resolution No. 4948-22, the Community Relations <br /> Committee conducted another public committee meeting for the Council to provide its input into the final <br /> determinations and express its opinion on the finalists; and <br /> 64‘,024 on March 22, 2023, pursuant to the Resolution No. 4948-22, the Council President, the Vice <br /> President, the immediate past Council President and the Chair of the Health & Public Safety Committee <br /> conducted a meeting to prepare a draft Resolution for consideration by the full Council to recommend no more <br /> than three applicants to the Mayor as required by the Ordinance; and <br /> 916.“, a majority of the Common Council members recommend the following applicants(in alphabetical <br /> order) to fill the Director position: Stephanie Ball and Charles King. <br /> 91 cc, =r96,6, 6r.d n ae *fie mman is za%Lgfrlie 6y10gEind Yn ziuz a6 ./u : <br /> Section I.
