Porks and Property Vacation Communes <br /> South Bend Common Council <br /> The May 22,2000 meeting of the Public Works and Property Vacation Committee was <br /> called to order by its Chairperson, Council Member David Varner at 5:15 p.m. in the Council <br /> Informal Meeting Room. <br /> Persons in attendance included: Council Members Aranowski,Kelly, Varner,Ujdak, <br /> White,Kirsits and Coleman; James A. Jasiewicz,Robert Hunt,Jon Hunt, Cassandra Moran, <br /> Terry Bland of the giautlk AEub&Huang, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand,Council Attorney. <br /> Council Member Varner noted that the first item on the agenda was to review Bill No. <br /> 41-00 which is a vacation request for two(2)streets and one(1)alley commonly referred to as <br /> the east half of Eclipse Place and Keller Street from East ROW of Eclipse Place to West ROW <br /> of Kaley and the 1st N/S alley west of Kaley. <br /> Mr. James A. Jasiewicz,Director of Buildings and Grounds for the South Bend <br /> Community School Corporation made the presentation. He noted that the ordinance addressing <br /> this same topic recently passed by the Common Council included typographical errors <br /> addressing the wrong key numbers and property owners which the South Bend Tribune found <br /> prior to the ordinance being legally advertised. The new Bill corrects those deficiencies. He <br /> noted that the project remains the same as noted at the prior Committee and Council meetings. <br /> The vacation would permit the needed expansion of the athletic facilities at LaSalle High <br /> School. <br /> Following discussion, Council Member King made a motion, seconded by Council <br /> Member Aranowski that Bill No. 41-00 be recommended favorably.
