INTER-OFFICE MEMORANDUM
BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
DATE:
TO:
December 5, 2022
Matt Longfellow, Public Works
Chris Dressel, Community Investment
Gerard Ellis, Fire Department
Brad Rohrscheib, Police Department
FROM: Theresa Heffner, Clerk
SUBJECT: Honorary Street Sign Placement
ORIGINAL NAME Corner of Washington and Elm & Corner of Colfax and
Elm
NEW NAME: Adeline Jones Blvd.
CRITERIA FOR HONORARY STREET SIGNAGE IS LISTED IN BPW RESOLUTION NO. 48-
2009. PLEASE INSERT YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS IN THE APPROPRIATE FIELD
BELOW FOR THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
1.The signage does/does not constitute a public safety hazard or public nuisance.
2.The signage or feature would/would not interfere with normal City operations or services.
3.All application, petition, and fee requirements have been met.
PUBLIC WORKS: No objections, but Traffic & Lighting provided the following comment:
“the Honorary sign already installed on the AEP pole will need to be removed and
installed on the street name pole making that pole having 4 signs attached to it.”
1/13/23 – Additional comments from Traffic & Lighting regarding the revised request –
“Concerned the street name signs for Colfax & Elm are on the NW corner which would
rename 2 sections of Elm, and that section is the entrance to the City Cemetery and
should remain Elm. Also a big tree blocks the stop sign location on the SE corner and
will not be seen all that well.” – Coby Deal
