Two lump sum quotes were received: •Naturally Native Nursery:$4,000.00 •Acorn Landscaping:$36,500.00 The scope of work is to provide and plant seeds in the northwest retention basin on Pure Green Farm’s property. The project is funded by way of a Development Agreement with Pure Green Farms. They have requested this work as part of their agreement with the City. In discussion with both contractors regarding the quote price difference, the variation stems from the assumptions made by each contractor with respect to soil preparation, as well as seed placement. Naturally Native Nursery insists that no soil preparation is needed aside from a weed-killing herbicide treatment. The seeds may also be hand-placed. Acorn Landscaping assumed much more effort required for soil preparation and seed placement, requiring mechanical equipment for both activities. The quote results were discussed with the ownership group of Pure Green Farms, and they are comfortable moving forward with a quote award to Naturally Native Nursery, who is a local Woman-owned Business Enterprise. I recommend award of the quote for Pure Green Farms Basin Seeding to Naturally Native Nursery, in the amount of $4,000.00. Funding is available through PR-00022097.
