City of South Bend | PE Services for Safe Routes to School - Kennedy School - Des #2201237 | 8
PROJECT APPROACH: DES. #2201237
DESIGN SERVICES
Once all the necessary data has been collected,
the JPR team will develop construction plans,
specifications, and a cost estimate for the planned
improvements. The team will focus on all aspects
including a minimum 5-foot sidewalk width,
curb ramps designed to PROWAG standards,
and limiting construction to remain inside the
existing right-of-way. Additionally, the JPR team
will investigate the need for minor adjustments
to drainage structures as well as providing a
2-foot HMA patch in the roadway turning space if
advanced deterioration is observed.
The JPR team understands that designing
compliant curb ramps can be difficult due to
various constraints but has experience working
with the INDOT Technical Advisory Committee to
find suitable solutions for any conflict that arises.
XXXXX
Deteriorating sidewalk
Non-compliant curb rampNon-compliant curb ramp
