Milestone Contractors North, Inc. <br />Alcohol and Drug Free Workplace Policy/Statement <br />Milestone Contractor's maintains a drug -free workplace in keeping with the spirit and intent of the <br />Drug -Free Workplace Act of 1988. We are committed to promoting and maintaining a drug -free <br />working environment for all our employees and promoting and protecting the safety, health, and well- <br />being of our employees. The use of alcohol and controlled substances not prescribed for the associate <br />or illegal drugs is inconsistent with the behavior expected of our associates. <br />The unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensation, possession, sale, or improper use of a controlled <br />substance in the workplace or while engaged in company business is strictly prohibited. Adherence to <br />the alcohol and drug -free workplace policy is a condition of continued employment. <br />• This policy will be applied in a manner consistent with all applicable federal, state and <br />local law. <br />• This policy covers all non -DOT -covered employees of the named employers (DOT -covered <br />employees are subject to the applicable regulations and procedures) and all new <br />employees post -offer, pre -hire. <br />• Confidentiality: All records pursuant to the alcohol and drug -free workplace policy will be <br />maintained in a separate confidential file, in accordance with applicable statutory or <br />regulatory requirements. <br />• Employees' Duty to Report Convictions: Any employee who is convicted of violating any <br />criminal drug statute regarding a violation occurring in the workplace must notify Human <br />Resources Department within five (5) days of the conviction. <br />Substance Abuse Testing <br />All substance abuse testing administered by Milestone Contractor's, and Champaign Asphalt Company <br />will include drug and/or alcohol screening. All entities also participate in random drug and alcohol <br />screening administered by outside sources, such as CCS (Coalition for Construction Safety), ICI (Indiana <br />Constructors Inc.) and BCRC (Building and Construction Resource Center, Inc.) All positive drug or <br />alcohol screens may result in termination. <br />Substance Abuse Testing Procedures for Company Benefitted (non -bargained) Employees <br />Initial Testing (Pre -Employment Post -Offer) <br />All new employees who are made a conditional offer of employment will be required to successfully <br />complete a drug test prior to commencing employment. <br />Random Testing <br />Milestone employees selected for random testing will be contacted and advised when to report to the <br />screening location. <br />Reasonable Suspicion Testing <br />Employees may be required to submit to alcohol and/or drug testing whenever their <br />supervisor/manager has a reasonable suspicion that the employee is under the influence of alcohol or <br />drugs based on the employee's behavior or physical symptoms or reactions upon the <br />supervisor's/manager's request. Examples of reasonable suspicion may include but is not limited to: <br />physical symptoms consistent with substance abuse (e.g., staggered gait, slurred speech, smell of <br />
