Committee sport: <br /> Parks and Recreation Committee <br /> to the Common Council of the eity of iioutfj en : <br /> The February 22, 1999 meeting of the Parks and Recreation Committee was called to order <br /> by its Chairperson, Council Member Charlotte Pfeifer at 4:30 p.m. in the Council informal <br /> meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Aranowski, Pfeifer, Kelly, Kelly, <br /> Varner, Ujdak, Hosinski, Coleman, Sniadecki; Betsy Harriman, Bill Carlton, Terry <br /> Bland,and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Council Member Pfeifer noted that the purpose of the meeting is to review Bill No. 9-99 <br /> which would appropriate$65,000 from the Coveleski Improvement Fund(Fund 401) <br /> Betsy Harriman,Administrative Director of the Parks and Recreation Department, made the <br /> presentation. She noted that the proposed ordinance are to sod the outfield and to construct <br /> a children's area along the third base site of the Stanley Coveleski Stadium. <br /> Following discussion, Council Member Hosinski made a motion, seconded by Council <br /> Member Aranowski that Bill No.9-99 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion <br /> passed. <br /> Under miscellaneous business, Council Member Aranowski noted that volunteers are being <br /> sought to help during the Labor Day weekend for the softball tournament which will have <br /> 50 teams with 15 players being played in South Bend. Council Member Hosinski noted <br /> that the MR Falcons & ZB Falcons national golf tournament will also be held in South <br /> Bend and encouraged goodwill and contact with this tournament also. <br /> Following further discussion,the meeting was adjourned at 4:35 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Council Member Charlotte Pfeifer <br /> Chairperson,Parks and Recreation Committee <br /> Attachment <br /> • <br />
