BILL NO. 22-14 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A SPECIAL RESOLUTION AWARDED BY THE SOUTH BEND COMMON <br /> COUNCIL HONORING <br /> THE SOUTH BEND WASHINGTON LADY PANTHERS HIGH SCHOOL <br /> BASKETBALL TEAM FOR ITS SUCCESS IN THE 2021-2022 BASKETBALL SEASON <br /> AND IN THE INDIANA STATE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT <br /> in March 2021, The South Common Council issued a Special Proclamation <br /> honoring the Washington Lady Panthers Basketball team for its success in the 2020-2021 <br /> basketball season and in the Indiana State Basketball Tournament; and <br /> Gil , that Special Proclamation stated, in part: "next year's team returns many of the <br /> same players to continue in the footsteps of the 2020-2021 team and to build on that rock solid <br /> foundation"; and <br /> Vie, that Special Proclamation was prophetic because not only did this year's team <br /> build upon that foundation, it exceeded the many accomplishments of last year's team by being <br /> ranked first in the State, being ranked 22nd nationally and by winning the Indiana Class 3A State <br /> Championship by scoring a Class 3A State record of 93 points; and <br /> O , the 2021-2022 South Bend Washington Lady Panthers Basketball Team consists <br /> of the following individuals: <br /> Seniors: Shamarah Allen; Mila Reynolds; Lauren Gillon; and <br /> Juniors: Amiyah Reynolds; Rashunda Jones; and <br /> Freshmen: Ryiah Wilson; Jariyah Parhams; Kira Reynolds; and Monique Mitchell; and; <br /> ) , the team is coached by Head Coach Steve Reynolds Jr. and Assistant Coach <br /> Marcy Reynolds, together with Karis Phillips, Kenneth Hunt, and Eddie Clay; and <br /> 6Xcema, the team avenged its loss in last year's state championship game by dominating <br /> Silver Creek by the score of 93-35; and <br /> Ofir.rea4, the Common Council proclaimed last year and now proclaims again"next year's <br /> team returns many of the same players to continue in the footsteps of the [this] team and to build <br /> on that rock solid foundation." <br /> Wasfon I. On behalf of the citizens of South Bend and the South Bend Common <br /> Council, we are proud to again publicly recognize and congratulate the South Bend Washington <br /> High School Lady Panthers Basketball Team for its outstanding season. <br /> Wertion II. We wish to honor each and every one of these young women as the great <br /> athletes they are and wish them all continued success in the remainder of their educational years, <br /> be it at the high school or college level, both on the court and off, and in their future careers <br /> where they will continue to do great things throughout their entire lives, motivated by the <br /> experiences and success they have had this season. <br />
